My letter consists of the following:
Dear Future Self,
I hope we’re
living out of state. I hope we own lots of the stuff we’ve been saving up for
for years, as a symbol of determination. I hope we’re working a job we truly
love while making enough money to survive. But most importantly, I hope we have
friends. I hope I can be comfortable enough with myself not to sabotage
potential friendships. I hope we are living our best life in a field,
apartment, and relationship (or friendship) that makes us feel truly fulfilled.
I hope to achieve independence but still feel comfortable asking for guidance.
Lord knows I’m not there yet, but by the time I see this, I hope the neurons in
my brain have been shifted to where I don’t put myself down for needing help
from my ‘rents. Even as a grownup. Hopefully that comes with having friends.
What’s it like?
Another
goal I have for us is to meet our idols. The people who give us motivation to
keep us going in life. Will I ever get a chance to tell them that? The saying
goes “Never meet your heroes”, but I trust that the ones I look up to will not
let me down, knowing how good they are with fans. I also want the chance for my
sister and I to become Disney princesses with a group of girls. Preferably
Ariel/Belle in a small group, but Anna/Elsa if we’re with a bigger group. My
biggest goal is to just be happy, which is all anyone could want for their loved
ones in life.
Take
care of yourself, learn to love and accept yourself, and empower yourself like
the boss bitch you know you can become. Have faith in yourself because no one
will do it for you.
Here's what it looks like as a calligram of my face:
And finally, here's a vectored poster of Wicked, showing how Elphaba and Glinda would look in an alternate universe.
How different would the story be if the script was flipped, and Glinda and Elphaba switched places?
