My final assignment was to create a stop motion video and remove the background, coloring one of the frames, thus creating an echo effect. I created an illusion of gymnastics and flipping on my sister and edited every fifth frame to make it look like it was blinking black and red. My portfolio for the semester includes a sneak peek, as well as all the assignments I have curated over the course of the class. Hope you like it and here's to a great semester!

My autoscopy assignment was to create an illusion of myself. So, I used my sister instead, creating a Beauty and the Beast theme. I made the rose her face, and Lumiere juggle Cogsworth. The age-old saying "every rose has its thorns" applies nicely to Beauty and the Beast, stating that even the most wonderful person has their flaws - including Belle.

My multiplicity assignment was to take six different photos of myself and use them to tell a cohesive story. So, I reenacted the opening number from the British pop musical SIX, in which the six ex-wives of Henry VIII come together in the form of a pop concert to tell their stories. They open the show with a single word that describes their post-Henry fate, using it as a precursor to discuss the frustrations of being defined by their affiliation with Henry. I had an extra step to do with editing the costumes onto my body. I used Photoshop to the best of my abilities, but I ended up relying on other programs that I used in the past to get the job done, such as PicsArt. This might be my favorite assignment to date, even though it was a difficult process to edit the costumes and hair onto my body. I thought it looked pretty good in the end, and I am rocking those costumes, if I do say so myself.

My first Photoshop assignment consists of a picture of me from Halloween two years ago. First, I made it black and white, then used various color palettes to transform the hues. Analogous colors (yellow, green, blue) Triad colors (red, yellow, blue) Compound colors (Different shades of purple) Part two of the assignment was to upload a photo of myself in character from a movie and insert myself into a scene. So, I took the photo from last Halloween with my sister and I from Frozen II and edited ourselves into the Enchanted Forest. As you can see, I'm clearly living out my childhood fantasy of being a Disney princess.

My letter consists of the following: Dear Future Self, I hope we’re living out of state. I hope we own lots of the stuff we’ve been saving up for for years, as a symbol of determination. I hope we’re working a job we truly love while making enough money to survive. But most importantly, I hope we have friends. I hope I can be comfortable enough with myself not to sabotage potential friendships. I hope we are living our best life in a field, apartment, and relationship (or friendship) that makes us feel truly fulfilled. I hope to achieve independence but still feel comfortable asking for guidance. Lord knows I’m not there yet, but by the time I see this, I hope the neurons in my brain have been shifted to where I don’t put myself down for needing help from my ‘rents. Even as a grownup. Hopefully that comes with having friends. What’s it like? Another goal I have for us is to meet our idols. The people who give us motivation to keep us going in life. Will I ever get a chan

For my logo assignment, I decided to go with a symbol that best represents me. The four words that describe me are funny, relatable, witty, and positive. I thought the unicorn emoji represented all those things, so I recreated it in Adobe Illustrator. To make the unicorn look 3D, I simply selected "Effects", followed by 3D and Materials", then pressed "Inflate". Here is what the business card looks like when inverted to a negative. And finally, here's my 3D logo with fun symbols. My essence is captured by all things purple, feminine, and fun. This is me!

Hi there, My name is Nicole Sklaver, and I am a junior Ad/PR major at the University of Tampa. I am looking forward to a promising semester in this class. A little about me: I am a total fangirl who loves all things pop culture, as well as musical theatre. I am an introvert who enjoys my own company, though I don't mind the occasional party or social excursion. My goals for this class are to brush up on photo and video editing skills, never knowing when I might need them. My first impression based on the first meeting is that the class is a lot more interactive and hands-on than lecture classes. I'm the type of person who learns by doing, so this style of class is easier for me to get something out of it. I have uploaded my ASCII selfie down below. Hope you like it.
